“A celebration of gymnastics and community spirit.”

On November 15 and 16, 780 PCYC gymnasts from across New South Wales will gather at PCYC Hawkesbury in South Windsor for the PCYC Gymnastics State Championships.

“The energy, the talent, and the teamwork – this event really captures what PCYC is all about,” said PCYC Gymnastics Manager, Justin Hayes.

“2025 will be the biggest yet, with 70 per cent more athletes registered to compete compared to last year.”

Gymnasts will compete in teams of four to six athletes, with the top four scores on each apparatus counting towards the team total. Competition categories include Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Team Gym, Free G, Trampoline, and Tumble.

The State Championships is reserved for PCYC members, with participants aged between six and 25 years old.

16-year-old Jada Rae from PCYC Maitland said “the standard of the competition raises every year, and it makes me work harder to build my skills so hopefully I can achieve high results in my level.”

“PCYC State means a lot to me as I’ve been with PCYC for over 10years and it’s a chance for us all to come together and catch up from so many clubs while still having the competitive spirit for the competition floor.” Said Jada.

PCYC Queanbeyan Gymnastics Program Leader, Rosie Iglewski said “PCYC competitions like this promote inclusivity and participation for up-and-coming gymnasts.”

“It exposes them early so that when they get to senior and elite competitions, they are more prepared – it also helps with skills development and retention in the sport.”

PCYC prides itself on supporting members as they challenge themselves, represent their communities, and build lifelong skills both on and off the mat. The Gymnastics State Championships is the 11th and final PCYC event of 2025.

Event Coordinator, Elizabeth Napoli said “There’s such an incredible buzz around this event, with hundreds of athletes coming together, and the amazing support of our judges, volunteers, and families.”

“It’s going to be a fantastic celebration of gymnastics and community spirit.”
