WHAT IS JOB READY?
The PCYC Job Ready Course helps students develop essential employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service, while also offering support in resume writing, interview skills, and workplace safety. The program is delivered over four days and is focused on practical delivery aimed at increasing students’ chances of securing part-time or casual employment in various industries.

The PCYC Job Ready Course has been designed to equip students with essential employability skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and customer service. It offers group sessions over four days aimed providing practical support in resume writing, interview skills, workplace health and safety, and First Aid. This comprehensive approach prepares participants to enter the workforce with confidence and a competitive edge, enhancing their chances of securing part-time or casual employment in industries such as retail, hospitality, customer service, and trade.
The PCYC Job Ready program addresses challenges of participants by focusing on outcomes that ensure students are workforce-ready and have access to resources and guidance that may otherwise be unavailable to them. By offering training, career counselling, and job placement support, the program bridges the gap for young people who have limited access to vocational training opportunities.
The program recognises the diverse learning needs of students and provides alternative learning environments to ensure they succeed. Through its structured, outcomes-focused approach, the PCYC Job Ready Course plays a pivotal role in supporting students’ transition into the workforce, helping them build the skills necessary for a successful career.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Eligibility for the PCYC Job Ready Course requires participants to be aged 14 -18, with a strong commitment to developing employability skills, attending four day long scheduled training sessions, and a desire to gain employment.
