Pickleball

What Pickleball at PCYC NSW has to offer

PCYC NSW hosts pickleball events for our community members who are looking for a fun and easy way to stay active while enjoying the thrill of competition.

If you haven’t heard of pickleball before, you’re not alone — but the premise is quite simple! The game is a mix between tennis, badminton, and squash, where players use a racquet to hit a ball over the net. It’s fast becoming a cult activity and gaining huge popularity across the state.

You can play one-on-one or as part of a doubles team. The pickleball court is smaller than a tennis court, making it easier to cover, especially when playing with a partner.

There isn’t much quick movement required, which makes pickleball an ideal activity for people of all fitness levels — including seniors. It’s a great way to incorporate exercise into your day in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

Pickleball is also a very social game. At PCYC, many groups gather regularly to play and compete just for fun. Whether you’re going solo or playing as a pair, you can enjoy the perks of this fast-growing sport at PCYC.

In Australia, pickleball is gaining popularity as both a social and physical activity. With over 65 clubs and centres across New South Wales, teens and adults can join pickleball games and events at several PCYC locations statewide.

Founded in 1937, PCYC NSW is a community organisation that empowers young people to reach their potential. We encourage children and teenagers to get active in their communities through a wide range of youth programs and recreational activities.
