PCYC is re-branding and re-designing the Port Macquarie Basketball Association Intro to Basketball program to incorporate more gameplay style skills and official games. We will be calling it the Intro to Basketball D-League as it will include a league style format in addition to skill development! Coaches will referee games and pull up play to teach skills, rules, and general developmental necessities.

D-League will still follow the 10-week block but will now run from 5.00-6:30pm on Thursdays (commencing Thursday 15 October). Includes a blend of skill development and gameplay, sometimes with modified rules, and official league games towards the end of the program. This program is a bridging program and aims to provide a pathway between the junior development programs and PMBA’s Domestic Competitions. This is the easiest and best way to prepare your child for Domestic Competitions at Port Macquarie Basketball Association.

Our mixed netball competition is open to 14 years and over and runs for 10 weeks. This is a SOCIAL competition, so please remember umpires are human! Please uphold the PCYC values at all times! Screen Acting: The Series will take you on a 4-Part-Acting-Journey into the exciting world of Film, Commercial, Creator & Television Acting. Starting  with Season 1: Introduction and moving through Intermediate 1 & 2 to Advanced (Seasons 2, 3 & 4).

Each Season will take place over a Term (10 weeks) and be 2.5 hours per week/episode – $250 per term, with the Intermediate 2 and Advanced Seasons running for 3 hours – $300 per term. Over the 4 Seasons, you will cover subjects like: Speech & Body Language, Improvisation, Characterisation, Commercial Acting, Voice Overs, Social Media Reels, Podcasts/Interviews, Audition Techniques (Commercial, Film & Screen Tests) and so much more!

Our Instructor, Nikole Hunter, has more than 35 years experience as a Professional Actor (Theatre, Film, Television, etc) & 25 years as a Director, Production Stylist, Make-up Artist and Screen Acting Instructor in the USA and Australia.

Season 1: Introduction (Beginners – No Experience Necessary) – You will spend the majority of each episode learning about the craft,  working individually and in groups, performing commercials and movie/television scenes for the camera. For your Final Project, the whole group will collaborate on a Scene that will be written, rehearsed and filmed; watching the playback during the Final Episode of the Season. Each student is encouraged to bring in a USB Device so that their filmed reels can be transferred and taken home for viewing.

INFORMATION NIGHTS  will now be scheduled before Season 1: Introduction commences. These nights will be available in late January & June, before Terms 1 & 3 begin. All interested students, parents & guardians are encouraged to attend. This will be an informal session with opportunities to observe Previous Series & Season highlights and student-created reels, pick up a Series Outline, and speak with the Instructor. She will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss preferred days/times of the week for upcoming Seasons and take Early Enrolments. Prospective students are invited to join to the waiting list. Details of the next Information Night will be posted on our Facebook Page and an invitation will be emailed to those on the Waiting List. Enrolments will be taken on a 1st Come 1st Served basis. (Information Nights will take the place of a Trial Class)

*The Series is for ages 10 years and up, and may be split by age (Pre-Teen, Teen & Adult), or mixed-aged depending on demand. Enrolment closes after Episode 2 of the Season and potential students will be added to a waiting list.
*Both Intermediate & Advanced Seasons will require completion of  Season 1: Introduction OR prior experience to enrol. If you have an Industry background or previous training, please reach out to our Instructor to discuss what course is right for you!
