James Dack reflects on his childhood

His rags-to-riches story has taken him from Woolloomooloo housing commission to a Woollahra mansion, but businessman James Dack still tackles his private battles with his fists.

'The multi-millionaire businessman climbs the stairs of Woolloomooloo PCYC, wraps his hands, pulls on the gloves, and does 12 rounds of boxing with Sydney Roosters under-20s conditioning coach Steve Driscoll. “It’s cheaper than therapy,” Dack says, the sweat drenching his plain black T-shirt.'

After a tumultuous upbringing, James Dack has remained heavily involved with PCYC NSW as a director, a donor, and a mentor.
