PCYC offers a helping hand for Learner Drivers and their families with a huge discount on their Safer Drivers Course

As NSW emerges from lockdown, PCYC NSW is helping Learner Drivers to get back on track to obtain their Provisional Licenses.

As a leading provider of Transport for NSW’s Safer Drivers Course for Learner Drivers, PCYC is offering a $100 discount, until the end of the year. This means families will only need to pay $40 for the course, instead of the usual full fee of $140.

EDIT: Date 01/02/2022 - This discount has now ended.

PCYC NSW CEO Dominic Teakle, said the organisation is proud of its ability to provide the Safer Drivers Course for Learner Drivers in many of it’s 65 club locations to help young drivers across the state.

“The Safer Drivers Course is invaluable in helping young drivers on their Ls prepare for driving alone when they graduate to provisional licences,” he said.

“As a charity and youth organisation working with Police and community to empower young people to reach their potential, we are very aware of how important a driver’s licence is, especially to those living in regional areas of NSW.

“Without a licence it is very hard for young people to find work and be independent. That’s why we are so pleased to be able to offer this discount and hopefully help more young people reach this important milestone.”

The Safer Drivers Course for Learner Drivers teaches how to reduce road risks by developing safe driving behaviours. It is a best-practice program designed by a panel of experts. Participants receive 20 Logbook Hours upon completion. The course consists of a 3-hour facilitated workshop with up to 12 participants, followed by a 2-hour, in-car coached session conducted with two Learners at a time.

PCYC is a charity focused on empowering young people, and we recognise the impact extended lockdowns have had on teenagers and their families. Many young people living in NSW should have already obtained their P-Plates by now, however the delays caused by COVID responses in 2020 and 2021 have created lengthy backlogs in Driver Testing. This offer will help these Learners and their families regain some all-important momentum and make the task of passing the Driving Test a little easier.
