COVID-19 Updates: New restrictions in place for Greater Sydney | Friday 9 July

COVID-19 Updates: New restrictions in place for Greater Sydney | Friday 9 July

Today the NSW Government reported 44 new coronavirus cases in the Greater Sydney area. Due to those new cases there are some changes to the latest NSW Health rules and restrictions affecting Greater Sydney. Restrictions in regional NSW will remain unchanged and Term 3 activity bookings are open.

Greater Sydney (Group A) Clubs:

From 5pm today (Friday, 9 July), in the Greater Sydney area:

  • Only two people can exercise outdoors (unless members of the same household)
  • Only exercise outdoors within your local government area, or within 10kms of your home
  • Only leave your home if you absolutely have to. (For a list of the reasonable excuses, please see the NSW Government COVID-19 rules)
  • From Sunday only 10 people will be allowed to attend funerals

We understand this is a difficult time for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and patience. Please stay safe this weekend and enjoy your time at home.

Regional NSW (Group B) Clubs:

For regional NSW, there are no changes, so restrictions will continue as:

  • Club visitors and members are required to wear masks in all indoor recreation facilities (unless it is strenuous exercise).
  • Children 12 years and under are exempt, but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable. For full mask regulations and exemptions, check the NSW guidelines here
  • Capacity of facilities - both indoor and outdoor non-residential settings - are limited to 1 person per 4 square meters, and dance and gym classes are limited to 20 per class (masks should be worn)
  • All members and visitors must record their visit to the club either through their PCYC membership card
  • From Monday 12 July, all staff, members and visitors will need to use the Service NSW Health QR code (COVID registration) to check in to all PCYC clubs and activities
