PCYC Lithgow OOSH transformation powered by community

The PCYC Lithgow OOSH (Outside Of School Hours care) space has received a facelift, thanks to generous donations of paint, equipment, and volunteers.
Heading into the Summer Holidays the mission was clear, a fresh coat of paint for two large activity rooms at the PCYC Lithgow before school goes back. Dulux was quick to jump on board contributing six tins of paint, while Bunnings Lithgow donated painting equipment.PCYC staff brought the project to life, coming in unpaid on their days off to help with the paint job, which totaled more than 20 hours.
PCYC Lithgow Club Manager, Chris Wade said, “Repainting the OOSH space is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through the strong teamwork we have at PCYC, with the support of local businesses and organisations.
“Everyone contributed their time and skills working collaboratively to transform the space into a welcoming and functional environment for the return of the OOSH kids. This collective effort has created a renewed space that reflects PCYC pride and will be enjoyed by many for years to come.” Said Chris.
PCYC NSW is committed to creating safe spaces where young people can thrive, with a dedicated inclusion team to ensure OOSH participants feel valued and heard.
OOSH Coordinator and painting volunteer, Chantelle Hull said “Donating my time to achieve a great result for the community was a no brainer. The new paint job has refreshed the space for our participants, and we’re looking forward to continuing the revitalisation with new furniture on the way.”
PCYC is ‘Built By Community’.
