Step into the ring and feel the benefits of youth boxing

You only have to look at a list of popular boxing movies - from Million Dollar Baby to Rocky and Southpaw – to see how the boxing gym is valued as a place to build friendships, find meaning and direction, and escape the realities of life.

In the past few years, the globally popular sport of boxing has had a bit of a “glow-up” and is now one of the most popular ways to improve health and fitness. Its easy to see why - boxing is fun, builds lean muscle, and strengthens your heart and lungs.

At PCYC NSW we have a long and rich history with the sport of boxing, dating back to our formation in 1937. During that time many thousands of young people have joined our boxing classes and have grown to appreciate the strength and agility boxing has given them

Boxing training at PCYC NSW clubs is fun and motivating. Children use various punching techniques and boxing conditioning exercises to increase their muscle endurance, strength and fitness. Boxing is not just about physical development, it also inspires self-confidence, respect, trust in others, and promotes determination and self-mastery.

In PCYC youth boxing classes the focus is one fitness rather than contact, so young boxers direct their punches to punching pads and bags...not each other!

If you would like your child to experience, the confidence-building and fitness-boosting benefits of youth boxing training sign them up at your local PCYC club. A quick search of ‘boxing near me’ will show your closet PCYC – all of our clubs have youth boxing activities.

Start with the boxing basics - try working on your boxing stance at home.
