PCYC NSW hosts pickleball events for our community members who are looking for a fun and easy way to stay active while enjoying the thrill of competition. If you haven’t heard of pickleball before, you’re not alone. But fortunately, the premise is quite simple! The game is a mix between tennis, badminton, and squash, and it’s similar to each of those sports in that you use a racquet to hit a ball over the net. It’s fast becoming a cult activity, gaining huge popularity across the state. You can either play on your own against another individual or as part of a team. In pickleball, the court is smaller than it is in tennis, so it’s easier to cover more of the court (especially when paired with a partner). There isn’t much quick movement required around the court, which makes pickleball an ideal activity for people of all fitness levels, including seniors. Pickleball is excellent for incorporating exercise into your day, in a way that’s easy-going and relaxed. At the same time, pickleball is also a very social game. At PCYC, many groups gather at our clubs on a regular basis to compete against one another for fun. Whether you’re playing solo or as a pair, you can enjoy the perks of this great game at PCYC. In Australia, pickleball is quickly growing in popularity as both a social and physical game. With more than 65 clubs and centres across New South Wales, teens and adults can play pickleball at several PCYC locations around the state.

Kinder Gym is guided by the coach on the apparatuses by refining skills learnt in Mini Movers. Children learn to follow instructions, stand and walk in a line as well as follow a circuit that includes: balancing activities on beam, swinging on bars by holding their body weight, trampolining for jumping creating aerial awareness and floor for developing skipping, hopping, landing and developing strength and flexibility used in gym fun.

With the assistance of a parent Mini Movers develops the child physically, cognitively, emotionally and socially through a safe, structured and multisensory environment. Mini Active Play creates problem-solving circuits incorporating activities of fine and gross motor skills, hand/eye coordination, balance and teaches children to climb, run bounce and move to music!

Participants will learn skills in tumbling, somersaults, handstands, cartwheels and related elements of gymnastics.

PCYC offers archery classes for 8 years plus and all abilities, under the watchful eye and instruction from coaches accredited with Archery Australia

Have your child's birthday party at PCYC Goulburn. During the 2 hours children will enjoy an Activities Officer leading games as well as rock climbing. Offered party times are for Saturdays or Sundays at 9am - 11 am, 12pm - 2pm and 3pm - 5pm. Bring along all food and drinks where you will have access to a kitchen for warming food as required.

Dance Instructor Bella Sylvester will guide participants through Musicality and Rhythm, Basic counting (3/4, 4/4, 6/8), Choreography retention and practice, Personal expression of movement and creation, Jazz, hip hop, contemporary and classical techniques (age appropriate), the ability to dance in a variety of environments – school dances, performances, freeform, improvisation, expression of emotions and thoughts.

Dance Instructor Bella Sylvester will prepare students in the basics of Dance, including how to warm up, dance terminology, rhythm, technique instruction and learning choreography.

Mum's and Bubs Movers and Groovers encourages mums (and dads, and grandparents, and guardians...) to join in the dancing. Whether you have the bub attached in a papoose/baby carrier, it's never too soon to get that jive.
