PCYC Cessnock is one of the most unique and exciting PCYC NSW facilities. With an indoor skate park and indoor rock climbing wall that reaches 18 metres high, there is something for everyone at PCYC Cessnock.
As well as these state-of-the-art facilities, Cessnock is home to a 1100 sqm Gymnastics room with the latest equipment which attracts the most popular gymnastics competitions in the Hunter region.
Our club has many different indoor activities, including an adventure play area for kids under 12 yrs, a competitive sports aerobics room and a fitness and weights room and boxing gym.

Pickleball is a fun, social and friendly low-impact sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is easy for beginners to learn but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. The first visit is free for new PCYC members! Each session is capped at 20 participants. Sessions can be pre-booked using the OpenSports app.
WAG (Women’s Artistic Gymnastics) is one of the most well-known forms of gymnastics – the kind you would commonly see in the Olympics on TV. It is a sport for girls of all ages comprising of 4 apparatus – beam, bars, floor & vault. Athletes will work on skills, dance and tumbling for each of these apparatus as well as working on developing strength, flexibility and handstands.
The classes are for participants who have mastered the GymSTAR levels or have been recommended by a coach and wish to learn more advanced gymnastics skills.
Classes are $19 weekly and require an annual Gymnastics NSW Registration ($75). We run a 48 week gymnastics program to promote continuous development and progress with athletes.

Tumbling is a gymnastics discipline that is performed without the assistance of props and down a long sprung track. Tumblers perform series of acrobatic skills and each jump, twist and flip is performed by placing only your hands and feet on the track. Tumblers perform dynamic routines and passes that include flips, rolls, jumps, somersaults, and handsprings. Tumbling is a captivating fusion of athleticism and artistic expression in which participants defy gravity and execute amazing skills with an effortless ease!
Tumbling classes are for everyone who has mastered the GymSTAR skills.

Does your child love to bounce and flip? Then our Trampoline class is for them!
Trampoline is for both males and females and includes amazing feats of athleticism whilst flipping and twisting through the air! Athletes start by learning safe jumping and landing techniques and progress through to more advanced skills and combinations including somersaults. Trampoline also includes Double Mini trampoline, a fast and explosive combination of trampoline skills including a run up and landing. Clean socks must be worn for trampoline classes. We run a 48 week tumbling program to promote continuous development and progress with athletes.

TeamGym is relatively new to Australia and is a fun and social way showcase a variety of gymnastics skills in a team environment. Teams consist of 6-12 athletes who perform 3 routines to music – floor (comprising of dance and acrobatic elements), tumbling (consisting of a series of forwards and backwards skills from rolls and cartwheels to flips), and mini tramp (jumps, turns and somersaults!). Teams are split into divisions based on skill level, catering from the very beginner to the most advanced gymnast.
The class is designed for children who have mastered the fundamental skills of the GymSTAR program, are ready for their pathway development and looking for a Team Gymnastics sport – with competition across Tumbling, Mini trampoline and Floor! We run a 48 week gymnastics program to promote continuous development and progress with athletes.
The classes are for participants who have mastered the GymSTAR levels or have been recommended by a coach and wish move into a competition program.
Classes are $24.23 and require an annual Gymnastics NSW Registration ($75).

PCYC Cessnock offers competitive programs in Trampoline & Tumbling levels 1-4 as well as WAG levels 1-7. These groups will have the opportunity to respresent the club at events around the Hunter Region and NSW! We run a 48 week gymnastics program to promote continuous development and progress with athletes.
Competitive squads require selection and a commitment for the season. Training days and times vary depending on group and level, and costs depend on hours trained.

GymSTAR Plus is an extension of our GymSTAR program, for those who have completed the STAR levels or have shown mastery of basic gymnastics skills. This class will increase difficulty on all apparatus whilst also building on strength, flexibility & technique in a recreational setting. Each term, participants will be assessed on the skills they have learnt and move up through Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. We run a 48 week gymnastics program to promote continuous development and progress with athletes.
Our GymSTAR Plus classes are $24.23 and require an annual Gymnastics NSW Registration ($75). Participants must have passed GymSTAR level R or have been recommended by a coach to be eligible for this class. Please contact the club to organise an assessment.
Junior gym is a program suitable for preschool and kindergarten aged children, bridging the gap between Kindergym and GymStar. Junior Gym offers more structure than the Kindergym program with teaching methods and activities specifically targeted to suit the developmental and cognitive needs of this age group, whilst increasing self-confidence in an independent learning opportunity. We run a 48 week gymnastics program to promote continuous development and progress with athletes.

This parent/adult assisted class is designed to give your little one a head start in life! With a focus on learning through play, each lesson will use colours, sounds and other stimulation to help your child develop their body control and strengthen brain connections through balance, sensory stimulation, tactile experience and coordination exercises. Children will learn to roll, climb, jump and swing all while having fun and socializing with parents and other children. Our fully equipped Gym & Fitness Centre features modern cardio and functional weight training areas in a welcoming environment suitable for all fitness levels. Members aged 14 years and over may use the cardio equipment under adult supervision, while those aged 16 years and over can access both the cardio and weights areas when supervised by an adult.
Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or working towards specific health and wellness goals, our facility provides the ideal space to stay active, build strength, and improve overall wellbeing.
Gym access is available in addition to a current PCYC membership, with flexible fitness options to suit your needs. Members can choose between a $10 casual visit fee or a convenient direct debit gym membership for just $20 per fortnight.

The course covers belaying, basic climbing techniques and skills associated with the sport of rock climbing. Must have someone over 12yrs with them to belay. NOT RUNNING DURING TERM 3
This course takes the climber to the next level and leads to sport/lead climbing introduction. Basic climbing course must be completed before entering this class. This is an invitational only class!!
This membership provides unlimited access to the Rock Climbing Gym, Skatepark, Weights gym, Boxing gym, and Multi-sport counts through direct debit. Access to rock climbing is only allowed during the gym’s operational hours.
The Junior Flexi Pass gives young members access to the Boxing Gym under the supervision of a parent or coach, as well as the cardio area of the Gym, Skate Park, and Rock Climbing facilities. It’s a great way to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy a variety of fun activities in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
Open to all levels of climbing abiliy. Our indoor rock wall measures 18 meters tall. All participants must be able to fit into the harness and have enclosed shoes. All participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian complete the acceptance of risk form (found below) Unlimited access options via direct debit and upfront are available!
Leading climbing is now available at Cessnock PCYC. You will need to complete an induction before or on your first visit. You can bring your own equipment (all equipment will be inspected upon arrival) or you can hire equipment from reception. Direct debit available.

U-Nites run on Friday and Saturday nights, offering a safe, structured environment for young people aged 10-18. We provide fun activities that promote socialisation and a sense of belonging. Dinner and transportation included.
The program fosters physical fitness, wellbeing, and personal growth, while promoting prosocial behaviours through mentorship. Additionally, participants are transported to school, ensuring they start their day positively.
