PCYC has developed programs of martial arts tailored the communities' needs. Most clubs have at least one form of martial arts and have classes for all ages and skill levels. The following forms of martial arts are available at various clubs, please check your local club and see what they offer.

Kendo

Kendo is a Japanese form of fencing with two-handed bamboo swords (Shinai) , originally developed as a safe form of sword training for samurai. Kendo, which translates literally to “The Way of the Sword”, is a contemporary Japanese martial art that evolved from the traditions of the samurai. PCYC offers kendo classes with highly trained instructors, and safety equipment of the highest standard.

Karate

Karate is a Japanese (Okinawa) system of unarmed combat using the hands and feet to deliver and block blows, widely practised as a sport. Karate may be defined as a weaponless means of self defence. It consists of dynamic offensive and defensive techniques using all parts of the body to their maximum advantage.
