PCYC program Fit Together shows results

A new program for indigenous teenagers, Fit Together, has resulted in better school attendance and a shift in attitudes towards the police.

As part of NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller’s RISEUP strategy, the Fit Together program is a collaborative approach with PCYC clubs across NSW. It is designed to help young Indigenous people by teaching them job skills and keeping them connected to their culture.

The Daily Telegraph highlighted the program at PCYC Bateau Bay and PCYC Mount Druitt and spoke to Youth and Crime Prevention Command Superintendent Mark Wall and PCYC NSW CEO, Dominic Teakle about the potential the program provides for police to engage with youth people.
