Boxing is one of the original sports conducted at the City of Sydney club when it was established in 1937. For over 80 years the Woolloomooloo Boxing Program has been the home gym for State, National and World Champions and continues that tradition today.


Our boxing classes are great for beginners all the way up to advance, teaching you the latest and greatest techniques in the boxing world.

Our club has it’s roots and foundation in boxing with some of the best boxers such as Jimmy Caruthers and Bruce Farthing coming out of here as well as other well known boxers training here.

If you’re looking for something to get your heart going in the morning before work this is the place to be.

PCYC City of Sydney have experienced boxing coaches on staff if you would prefer one on one coaching to improve your skills and performance.

One on One coaching sessions start at $60 per 45 minute session. Spots are limited so please make your booking through reception or email us at


On Monday afternoons between 4:30pm-5:30pm we provide a free boxing class for junior members. This is an inclusive class for all fitness and skill levels, and caters especially for beginners. The class is run by a passionate group of volunteers with years of experience in boxing.

The Junior Boxing Squad is our elite boxing squad, training young boxers to prepare for competition. Junior Boxers are a part of a program, which provides coaching, strength and conditioning, nutritional advice and performance testing. Squad training happens on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4:30pm-5:30pm.

All fighters are provided with uniforms, hand wraps and skipping rope. Registration is $150 per term. This falls under the Active Rebate Scheme.

The girls boxing squad – “Woollo Wolves” – is a girls only boxing class ran by Club Patron and Boxing Coach Bruce Collins, aimed at creating a safe, inclusive space for young women and help those female youth at-risk re-engage.

The session takes place every Wednesday from 4.30pm and includes 45mins of boxing, followed by mentoring and food in the Youth Room.
