PCYC has developed programs of martial arts tailored the communities' needs. Our martial arts programs have classes for all ages and skill levels, facilitated by talented, experienced and passionate instructors. The following forms of martial arts are available at Sutherland.

Tae Kwon Do

We partner with Australian Freestyle Tae Kwon Do Academy (or AFTA) on this program  using the traditional techniques and values of the Korean Martial Art and combined them with modern and realistic self defence forms to create a more practical and effective style. Whilst still concentrating on powerful kicks and traditional techniques of Tae Kwon-Do, a greater emphasis has been placed on hand techniques and realistic self defence. Bookings can be made direct through the website www.aftataekwondo.com.au

Judo

Judo¬† is an Olympic-level sport of unarmed combat derived from ju jitsu and intended to train the body and mind. It involves using holds and leverage to unbalance the opponent. Judo is a Japanese word meaning “gentle way,” and is a type of martial art that comes from the ancient Japanese martial art of jujitsu, meaning “yielding way”. PCYC judo programs are run in accordance with the Australian Judo Federation (JFA), including the accrediting of instructors and grading of participants

Ninjitsu

Ninjitsu is part of traditional JuJitsu, the traditional Japanese art of stealth, camouflage, and sabotage, developed in feudal times for espionage and now practised as a martial art. PCYC offers this form of martial arts with skilled instructors within our clubs.
