PCYC Institute is the registered training organisation (RTO) of the Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW (PCYC).
The PCYC Institute is an important component of PCYC, providing training to its members – both students and staff. It is registered by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) under the Australian quality training framework. This means that participants, should they choose, may undertake accredited training and obtain a nationally recognised qualification following successful completion.

Certificate I in Active Volunteering
This qualification covers people working in a volunteer capacity and includes foundation skills required by all volunteers to enable them to effectively undertake their volunteer work using basic practical skills required for the job.
These foundation skills cover being an effective volunteer, organising their own work routine efficiently and performing a sequence of routine tasks, given clear directions, understanding and following the organisation's occupational health, safety and welfare procedures thus engaging in safe work practices and interacting appropriately with clients, including receiving and passing on messages and information.All year
Certificate II in Active Volunteering
This qualification covers people working in a volunteer capacity and builds on the foundation skills required by all volunteers, to deliver competency outcomes including:
Undertaking administrative tasks that involve basic operational knowledge, accessing and recording information and making choices between a limited range of options relevant to the job
Acquiring strategies that will assist them as volunteers to communicate more effectively with clients and be able to apply known solutions to a limited range of predictable problems
Engaging in safe work practices, and applying basic operational knowledge in a moderate range of areas relevant to the job
Developing a defined range of skills that will assist them as volunteers to work effectively with colleagues (paid and volunteer) and take limited responsibility for their work output and learning.All year
Certificate IV in Youth Work
This course will provide you with foundational skills to work with and support young people for positive outcomes. You'll learn to develop and facilitate programs that address their social, behavioural, health, welfare, developmental and protection needs.

Diploma of Leadership and Management

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for you to commence work in the retail industry.
With this qualification, you will be able to perform roles, such as:

Certificate II in Retail Services
This qualification reflects the role of frontline retail team members who use a defined and limited range of operational skills to undertake workplace activities. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision of others.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including speciality retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants.
With this qualification, you will be able to perform roles such as frontline team member, customer service assistant and point-of-sale operator.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.All year
Certificate I in Hospitality
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who participate in a range of routine and predictable hospitality work activities. They work under close supervision and are given clear directions to complete tasks.
This preparatory qualification provides individuals with knowledge and skills for initial work, community involvement and further learning.All year
Certificate II in Hospitality
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision.

Children at Risk and Harm (statement of attainment)
Children at risk and harm is linked to our PCYC KidzCare program and will give all potential and current staff accredited and up-to-date education as needed by the NSW government.
