From CEO Darren Black

[Last Wednesday] was a good day for PCYC and for the community of Auburn with the official opening of the new Auburn PCYC.

Auburn is one of the most diverse multicultural communities in Australia with a high population of new migrants and refugees who have been settled in the community.

PCYC will play a vital role for many years to come:

Not just in providing a wide range of sports and recreation programs and activities;

Not just delivering youth leadership development opportunities;

Not just in providing crime prevention and diversion programs.

We can play a role in building bridges of respect, inclusion and cohesion in that community.

Congratulations and thanks to Lewis Whales our new club manager for the great start you have made at the new club (almost 600 new members in under two months),

And for your co-ordination of a great event.

Thanks to Youth Command for ensuring we have had two very capable and enthusiastic YCMs in Senior Constables Gabi Di Marino and Enzo Silvestro in place since opening.

Thanks to RGM Greg Howe for your leadership in chairing the operational readiness team over the past four to five months.

Thanks to Lester Stump and Darren Clarke in the property team for delivering an excellent refurbished facility at Auburn.

Thanks to Howard, Michael [and Amanda] for your marketing and communications support to helping the club get underway.
