PCYC Marrickville Adult Sports section manages a wide variety of recreational sports opportunities that let grown-ups play like kids-at-heart.

 

 

 

Who is it for?

PCYC Marrickville has a number of adult programs to cater for our older demographic. Whether you are wanting to get fit, build your social skills or want to join a competition, PCYC is the place for you!

All of our programs are taught by highly accredited coaches/officials with an emphasis on fun and safety!


Sporting Competitions

Adults Bootcamp

Improve your fitness with a 45 minute high intensity fitness bootcamp. The class includes a mix of cardio, resistance and weight training. All levels of fitness welcome.

Tuesday 6:15pm-7pm

Classes are just $10 a session for PCYC members. Fitness passport is accepted.


Boxing for Fitness

The boxing for fitness class is an exercise class using training methods developed for the sport of boxing such as focus mitts, gloves, skipping ropes and medicine balls.

Improve your cardio-vascular fitness, muscle tone and reduce stress levels in this class.

PCYC Wednesday Social Badminton Group

The Badminton Group at Marrickville is formed by a group of enthusiastic badminton players.

Our members are of different ages and skill level.

Runs every Wednesday 10:30 am to 2:30 pm during the school term.

Our aims are meeting people, making friends, improving health and having fun.

PCYC Tai Chi

Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Feel free to join our Tai Chi group NEXT SESSION.

Runs every Wednesday 10:30 am to 11:30 am during the school term.

PCYC Gentle Exercise Group

Exercise class for older adults. Classes include: low impact aerobics for cardiovascular fitness, upper and lower body strength and conditioning using bodyweight and light weights, balance exercises for falls prevention, finishing with a cool down and stretching.

Runs every Tuesday and Friday 9:30 am to 10:30 am during the school term.

PCYC Social Table Tennis Group

A community health program targeting physical activity for older people. Participants may be coached by mutli-gold medallist Inh Le.

This program is co-hosted by PCYC Marrickville, Marrickville Health Centre, Sydney South West Area Health, Eastern Zone Migrant Health Team.

Everyone is welcome. Every Tuesday and Thursday 11 am to 2 pm.

Mum’s Get Active

Mum’s get active is a 45 minute yoga class for mum’s and babies!

This program is hosted by PCYC and Inner West Council every Tuesday 1:30-2:30pm.

Welcome to come without or without your baby.

This is a FREE program! $20 annual PCYC Membership is required on the second visit.
