PCYC GRIFFITH MARTIAL ARTS

At PCYC Griffith, we provide martial arts classes for anyone looking to challenge their body and mind. Our club offers several types of martial arts classes, including karate and hapkido, so you can choose the one that suits you best.

Karate classes are particularly popular at PCYC Griffith. In this Japanese style of martial arts, you will learn how to use your hands and feet to strike and defend yourself on the mat. Since karate is a form of unarmed combat, you will also receive training on using other parts of your body to your advantage.

In addition to karate, PCYC Griffith also hosts hapkido classes each week. Hapkido is a modern Korean martial art in which participants aim to harmonise their body energy while maintaining a state of non-aggression. This form of martial arts requires students to carefully consider and calculate their moves in advance, rather than simply using force against their opponent.

PCYC Griffith welcomes members of all experience levels and fitness abilities to join our martial arts classes. All of our sessions are taught by qualified trainers who will help you enjoy your time in the gym. View our current Griffith martial arts classes and competition timetable below.

Hapkido is designed to be a martial art that harmonizes body energy while maintaining a state of non-aggression. Many martial arts focus on non-aggression, and can be practiced by men and women of all ranges of size and strength. This form is about calculated moves rather than brute force. Hapkido is governed by three essential principles.
